Beyblade X Davao Tournament Rules
Note: The following rules are specific to the Beyblade X Davao Tournaments and may modify or supplement the standard Beyblade X Regulations. These custom rules take precedence over the standard regulations for this event.
1. Deck Lock-in
• Decks are locked from the first round of Swiss until the finals.
• Deck boxes must be left on a designated area to prevent part changes.
• Players can only take their deck box when called for a match and must return it to the table after the match.
• Deck box is not required but is highly encouraged. Players can use paper bags, cardboard boxes, or anything that can hold their beyblades so it does not mix up with another player's deck.
2. Contesting a Judge's Decision
• Judges will notify players of any checks (e.g., aerial collision, early/late launch) at the start of a match.
• Players can only contest a decision during the battle before the result is declared. If a battle ends too quickly to contest, the judge will review and make a decision.
• The judge's decision is final, but players can request a second opinion from the Head Judge if unsatisfied provided that the player notified the judge to request for a review before a result has been made.
• During the review period, players are not allowed to view any footage while the judge has not made a decision.
• Judges must not tell the Head Judge their judgment so the Head Judge can make their own independent decision based on the footage.
3. Part Changing
• Players caught changing parts during the tournament will be disqualified.
Part changes are allowed only if:
- The replacement part is identical (e.g., swapping 1-60 from one Beyblade for another 1-60).
- An official is informed and verifies the replacement part.
- If a part has been destroyed or damaged and is deemed unusable during battle, we will consider changing parts. If the player cannot provide such parts, or the community could not provide the damaged part, we will consider allowing the player changing their whole bey as long as both parties agree and judge agrees.
4. Double Entry Deck Rules
• Each deck must consist of 6 Beyblades with no repeating parts across both decks.
• Players must submit their deck lists before the tournament for verification.
• If repeating parts are discovered during the tournament, the player will be disqualified.
5. Double Entry Matchup
• We will ensure that no double entry matches up on Round 1.
• If both of a player's entries are matched against each other, the player can choose which entry receives a 4-0 score.
6. No Show Policy
• If a player is called and does not show up:
- The next match will proceed, and the matchup will be queued for the last match.
If the player is absent:
- Round 1: The present player wins 4-0.
- Round 2: The absent player is converted to a Bye, and the present player wins 4-3.
- Round 3 and beyond: The present player will be given a score of 4-0.
7. Tournament Setup
• The tournament will use Challonge with a 2-stage format:
- Group Stage: 6 rounds of Swiss.
- Final Stage: Top 16/24/32 single elimination.
• If there's an odd number of participants, a Bye player will be added. Matches against the Bye player will result in a 4-3 score.
8. Tournament Tie Breakers
Tiebreakers will be decided in this order:
- Point Difference: Higher difference (e.g., 4-0 = 4pts, 4-3 = 1pt, 4-2 = 2pts...) ranks higher.
- Points Scored: Total points across all rounds (e.g., 4-0 in 6 rounds = 24 points).
- Buchholz System: Ranks players based on their opponents' strength and performance.
9. Score Submission Procedure
• The winning player must collect both players' decks and submit them to the scorer.
• When submitting match results, players must clearly indicate:
- Their entry number (as indicated on their deck box)
- Their name
- The final score
• Players should confirm with the scorer that the entered results are correct and may request to verify the inputted score before leaving to ensure accuracy.
